Radial Symmetry Sunflake Collages

Frank Asch wrote a wonderful poem called Sunflakes which inspired this lesson in radial symmetry.

 Symmetrical Cityscapes

These cityscapes are drawn with construction paper crayons. Students are asked to show bilateral symmetry in their drawings, and during discussion are asked to prove to a partner that they used bilateral symmetry.

Cityscapes on Watercolor Wash

This second version of cityscapes uses a watercolor wash background. The watercolor washes have been done previously using warm or cool colors to show morning or evening sky.
